About SaReGaMaPa Challenge
About the Show
The SaReGaMaPa Challenge series began in 2005. The format of the show was to find one voice from India to represent the country in the Bollywood music industry.
The first challenge series was a huge success and had finalists from Lucknow and Assam competing together to be the Voice for India.
After the huge success of challenge 2005-6, SaReGaMaPa came back with challenge 2007-8. The twist in this series was that the contestants this time were picked from all around the world to find “Duniya ki voice”. The show saw contestants from the UK, Pakistan, India, and Dubai competing together on one musical platform.
Each contestant during the series belongs to a Gharana which is headed by a successful music director from the music industry. In challenge 2005-6, the winning musical mentor was Ismail Darbar. In challenge 2007-8, Himesh Reshammiya was the winning musical mentor.
SaReGaMaPa Challenge 2008-9 will feature Himesh Reshammiya, Pritam Chakraborty, Shankar Mahadevan and Aadesh Srivastava competing together on the musical stage to find the winning voice from their respective gharana’s.
